I highly recommend

Orthopaedist Consultation • Paid: 1350 zł

I visited Carolina Medical Center as a health care tourist from the UK. Given the long UK National Health Service waiting times for treatment, and the high price of private treatment as an alternative, Carolina Medical Center offered immediate attention at a very competitive price. I was very happy with their excellent service. After booking an MRI for my painful shoulder, and an examination by an orthopaedic surgeon who recommended some x-rays that were completed immediately as well as the MRI, I got the diagnosis I needed and a treatment plan. I was struck by their efficiency. My initial inquiry by email and subsequent appointment were very promptly managed by their Medical Tourism Specialist. Once at the Center, I was seen punctually. And I was impressed by their professionalism: an unhurried and very respectful approach from the surgeon who answered all my questions. It is well worth the trip to Warsaw. And for UK medical tourists like me, everybody I encountered spoke English adequately enough so that there weren't any communication problems. I highly recommend!

All were handled very efficiently

Hip Replacement

All were handled very efficiently. I met with Dr Jacek Laskowski, who ordered an immediate X-ray, after which hip replacement surgery was determined necessary.

We then discussed the proper prosthesis and scheduled the surgery and all of the accompanying tests.

The only problem was that on the paperwork my birth year was entered incorrectly.
We caught the problem later, after returning home and promptly notified the Center.

That was the best experience I had

Hip Resurfacing • Paid: 62663 zł

I had a bilateral hip resurfacing surgery with the doctor Jacek Laskowski on 28th July in Carolina hospital. As I was considered young for this surgery (42 years old) and had an athlete history before, the doctor decided to made both hips on the same day. That was the best experience I had comparing to hospitals in UK and Italy about not just the surgery but also very clean and modern hospital, very friendly staff (some nurseries don’t speak English but they try their best to comfort you), a lovely medical tourist manager always checking if everything was ok with me (Ms Danuta Milanowska). A big Thank You for Doctor Jacek Laskowski and Carolina hospital.
About my recovery after 2 weeks I started to swim and bike exercise. My 4th week I left the crutches. Only the first week not was easy.

Dear Marcelo, thank you for your kind words. We try to do our best to help our patients, we are here for you. We wish you good health and happiness! And please - stay in touch, inform us about your progress in recovery.Kind regards,Danuta Milanowska (on behalf of Carolina Medical Center team)

The hospital itself is very modern and immaculately clean

Orthopaedist Consultation

I had a consultation last week with Dr. Laskowski (Orthopaedic) for my hips as I'm not happy with my current treatment in the UK and wanted a second opinion. Dr. Laskowski was very thorough and he was also able to fast-track me for blood tests, X-Rays and MRI as I had travelled specially and was only in Warsaw for a couple of days.

The hospital itself is very modern and immaculately clean. I chose the hospital as it is Orthopaedic and aimed at those who are sporty/active. The prices are so much better than those in the UK.

I was able to get an appointment very quickly and my visit was organized through Danuta M, (who deals with patients coming from abroad and also speaks excellent English!) Danuta has been brilliant and even came to meet me just before my appointment!

Treated by: Dr Jacek Laskowski

Dear Katarzyna, on behalf of dr Laskowski and myself I would like to thank you for your excellent opinion. We will always try to do our best to make our patients feel safe and cared.I hope further treatment will be as satisfying for you as the first impression. With kind regards,Danuta MilanowskaMedical Tourism ManagerCarolina Medical Centerul. CT Scan - Computed Tomography

Spiral computed tomography uses roentgen rays(X-rays) to get detailed images of the inside of the human body like neverbefore. As a result of advanced computer processing, diagnostic images can be created for any part of a patient’s body. Enough datacan be collected in a CAT scan for the rendering of an advanced three-dimensionalreconstruction of the examined tissue or organ.AnX-ray lamp and detectors suspended on opposite sides of a perfectly round hoopare the main components of a CAT scanner. Entering the CAT scan on a specialtable, the patient is situated between the lamp and detectors. The X-ray lampgenerates radiation, which passes through the patient’s body and is picked upby detectors. The fact that X-rays are differently impaired by individualorgans/tissues of the body forms the collection basis for the image. Thedetectors are able to measure the level of this differential weakness andcreate a digital image of the results. The amount of data attained during theexamination has grown due to the application of modern detectors, which hasgiven greater processing possibilities. This means that, after performing anexamination, even when the patient has already left the studio, we can use thereceived data to get additional and alternative renderings of the examinedarea. They are usually two and three dimensional images of examined structures, and in the case of the cardiovascular system, the images are similar tosubtractive angiography. It is also possible to make three-dimensional imagesof the interior of organs using the light/clearance system (such as: bloodvessels, stomach, intestines, trachea, bronchial tree, and even the inside ofthe middle ear). Such reconstructions are called multi-surface, three-dimensionalor virtual endoscopy.CAT scan recommendations for orthopaedic patients:

Diagnostic Imaging Consultation

Orthopedic X-rays only

The X-Ray diagnostic method is widely applied inmedicine, mainly in the diagnosis of bone trauma. The procedure itself isstraightforward as each tissue type of the body absorbs roentgen rays indifferent ways. The X-rays pass through soft tissue but are reflected back bythe denser bone material and hence an image can be produced showing thisreflection. To get the X-ray image, the radiation goingthrough the body causes a blackening of a photographic plate according to theamount of absorption. The bone tissue demonstrates a much greater absorptioncapacity than the tissues surrounding it, which is visible on the film as thenon-blackened area. X-ray examinations have a limited application in thediagnosis of tissues due to the fact that there is too small a differencebetween the absorption coefficients of these different tissues as opposed tothat of the dense bone. With a view to a better depiction some shading agentsare applied, called contrasts, and then a viable image of non-bone material canbe createdRepeated X-ray examinations are not encouraged astoo much radiation can be hazardous to health. Therefore, they are carried outexclusively on patients holding a referral issued by a doctor. For childrenthey are limited to a minimum, and more progressive methods of diagnosis areapplied, which are safer for the patient.
